Themes
I have focused on three themes throughout my MSET program:
Technology in the Classroom--This was my main intention when starting the MSET program. I believe that special education students have access to technology for drill and practice exercises, but rarely for creating. Throughout the program I have focused on creating activities that allow for students to use, investigate and create using technology.
Leadership--When I started the program I had the goal of becoming a leader in my department. The courses that I have taken have prepared me for this and more. Projects that I have completed during the program have expanded the leadership role to from a department to a district. Implementing new programs as well as developing and evaluating technology plans are a few of the projects that I completed.
Change--In order to apply what I have learned by completing the MSET program, a change needs to occur. Changes in the way I deliver instruction, use technology, and teach technology. The changes in my classroom will have an impact on the other themes on which I focused.
